Alan

Alan is a senior in high school currently taking AP Statistics and AP Physics C, and has taken AP Calculus BC. He has taken honors courses throughout high school and consistently receives high grades in almost all of them. Alan was a member of his school's math team that won the Connecticut State Association of Math Leagues (CSAML) Championship in 2021 and 2022. He is also an AIME qualifier. Alan was a tutor at Math Champions, a math literacy program organized by Greenwich United Way in the summer of 2019.

Alan was one of the student founders of My Stem Help. He works to ensure that there are enough tutors attending every help session, and tutored the second-highest number of sessions in the past two school years.

Besides studying and tutoring math, Alan enjoys making music with his peers. He is the first clarinetist of his school’s Wind Ensemble, performs Beethovan’s symphony with the school Orchestra, plays in the music pit for school musicals, and cheers up the team and audience at school football games with the Pep Band.

Alan is also fluent in Chinese. He has read three of the four Great Classic Novels in Chinese-- the Tales of Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West, and Outlaws of the Marsh. Alan has been tutoring Chinese since the summer of 2020.
