As an athlete in the pool and a nerd at heart, Ben balances swimming, STEM, and his other hobbies all at once. After fostering a passion for teaching through the Horizons summer volunteer program, Ben became one of the first members of My STEM Help as a freshman in 2020. Since then, he has grown to love the program and take more initiatives. Now, as a senior in high school, he hopes to expand the reach of the organization, inform and inspire kids through his engaging blogs, and keep improving upon the other aspects of My STEM Help.
Ben has participated in his school’s math team for four years and has been a part of its six-member A-team to win a Fairfield County Math League match. Additionally, he has qualified and participated in the MATHCOUNTS State Competition, as well as the AIME exam in 2023. He has taken many APs, including AP Chemistry, BC Calculus, AP Biology, and AP Physics 1, and currently studies Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, and AP Physics C.
Outside of the classroom, Ben is a nationally ranked swimmer. He is an Individual All America in the 100 Butterfly (top 100 fastest swims in all US high schools 2022-23) and a three- time Junior National Qualifier. In his free time, he coaches private swim lessons and tutors 3D printing. He also enjoys playing the piano, producing music, coding, and writing creative pieces whenever he can. His favorite books are the The Hunger Games trilogy, and his favorite movie is Parasite!
